Hello…welcome!

I’m a Holistic & Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and am passionate about holistic living encompassing all pillars of wellness.  I truly believe you have to find balance between physical, mental and emotional health, spirituality and self-acceptance to truly live your best life.

I’ve personally experienced living life in a fit body, an overweight body and everything in between.  I can assure you the size and shape of your body is not the only factor to be considered.  I understand the process and work it takes to find a healthy balance to live your best life and be the healthiest and happiest version of YOU!  As we are all individuals, this will look different for everyone.

I love sharing my personal experience and education to help women reclaim their vitality and feel energized as they transition into the best version of themselves.  The focus is on healthy choices each day that compound over time vs. focusing on a quick fix or a number, shape or size.     

I noticed that so many women feel they have to lose weight or somehow get better before they can live the life they truly desire – perpetually living in a state of “someday”.

Everyday is an opportunity to make new choices that move you closer to living a healthier and happier life.  It’s about consistently showing up for yourself – even when you don’t want to – even when you think you’re not making progress. 

I challenge you to make a commitment to yourself to take one step (no matter how small) each day towards your goals knowing you are exactly where you need to be today…and that’s enough!  Trust me, you’ll get there!  

My Mission

My goal is to inspire, empower and support others to take charge of their well-being and serve as a resource for those seeking a shift in their mindset.  I do this by sharing stories, experiences and my thoughts around living holistically to become a healthier and happier you!  

The Story Behind Yellow Rose

Yellow roses are more than just beautiful flowers.  They are a symbol of friendship, joy and new beginnings.  Whether you’re looking to brighten someone’s day, celebrate a milestone or simply spread cheer, a bouquet of yellow roses is the perfect choice.  But, the meaning goes beyond gestures.  Yellow roses are associated with happiness, optimism and warmth.  They are a reminder to be grateful for the good things in life and to embrace each new day with a smile.

I want to build a community that invokes just that; feelings of friendship between women that uplifts, inspires, and supports them on their quest to find inner joy.  A place where anyone and everyone is welcome without judgement and celebrated for being exactly who they are and where they are right now.  I genuinely want you to be successful and improve on your journey to a healthier and happier you…the best version of you!

On a personal note:  My mom’s favorite flower was a yellow rose, and we celebrated her life with yellow roses; each of us with a single yellow rose in remembrance of her life.  This website is aptly named Her Yellow Rose as it is a site inspired and dedicated to her.  A site that emphasizes the importance of active living and healthy choices to enhance your quality of life.  Something I wish had been available to her that would have provided her the tools she needed to enhance her quality of life before it was too late.

As I talked to my daughter about holistic living and how our lifestyle play a pivotal role in our quality of life, I found myself using her grandma as an example.  A woman who followed the typical western lifestyle.  One consisting of eating mostly highly processed sugar laden foods with very little activity.  I too followed that lifestyle for many years.  

As we talked, I realized I wanted to help people live a healthier lifestyle.  Not one focused on a size or number but one focused on feeling good.  One encompassing activity in whatever manner that looks like for you.

                                                   

My Story

I am a certified Holistic & Integrative Health Coach, a certified Yoga Breath Coach and have a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology).  I’ve been working in the Health & Wellness field for 20 years doing everything from conducting fitness testing on military personnel and correctional officers; teaching group exercise classes and providing one-on-one counseling.

As a single parent, I know the challenges of navigating all the obligations of a busy life while at the same time trying to find time for yourself.  I have tried yo-yo diets with my rollercoaster weight.  It wasn’t until I embraced holistic living, to include eating whole foods and making movement a consistent part of my life, that I could stop all the restrictive dieting.

  • I found plant-based living and true holisitc health at mid-life – you’re never too old!
  • I’m a wanderess at heart; travel, adventure and exploring are in my blood
